Quantum Sales Engineer

The Quantum Sales Engineer is responsible for expanding XMA’s presence in emerging quantum computing and cryogenic markets. This role focuses on identifying and developing new opportunities, supporting the definition of customer requirements in technically complex environments, and acting as a bridge between customers, engineering, and product strategy.

The position requires comfort operating in less-defined spaces, contributing to product direction, and building relationships with advanced research and high-performance technology customers. Success is measured by the ability to generate new pipeline, influence product development, and establish XMA as a trusted partner in the quantum ecosystem.

Success Profile

This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, can engage in technical discussions without fully defined requirements, and are motivated to build new opportunities rather than support established ones. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, able to connect technical concepts to customer needs, and effective at building credibility with both engineers and commercial stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities within quantum computing, cryogenic, and advanced RF/microwave applications, with a focus on expanding XMA’s presence in emerging markets.
  2. Engage directly with customers to define technical requirements in complex and often early-stage applications, translating those needs into viable product solutions in partnership with engineering.
  3. Serve as a subject matter resource on quantum-related applications, supporting both internal teams and external customers with technical insight and guidance.
  4. Drive early-stage opportunity development, including technical discussions, concept validation, and alignment between customer needs and XMA capabilities.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and operations to influence product development, ensuring alignment with evolving market requirements and long-term growth opportunities.
  6. Monitor market trends, research activity, and competitive developments within quantum and adjacent technologies to inform strategy and identify areas for differentiation.
  7. Support strategic accounts within advanced technology sectors, building relationships with research institutions, startups, and high-performance system integrators.
  8. Contribute to product roadmap discussions by providing market feedback, customer insights, and opportunity-based recommendations.
  9. Partner with sales to transition qualified opportunities into executable programs, ensuring continuity from initial engagement through order and delivery.
  10. Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and application guidance tailored to highly specialized customer environments.
  11. Represent XMA at industry events, conferences, and customer visits to strengthen presence within the quantum and advanced technology community.
  12. Support long-term growth initiatives by identifying potential partnerships, collaborations, or new application areas aligned with XMA’s capabilities.
  13. All other duties as assigned.
